Ending sales figures for March  2010 and 2011.  Buyers raised the units sold number, as prices continued to drop.

65% of the purchases are cash and 35% are conventional, FHA or VA.  Cash buyers are taking advantage of the low  home prices brought about by short sales, reo's, foreclosure and motivated buyers. 

The weather has been outstanding for March and into April.  We had a few humid days in March but mostly sunny, 70's and 80's, with a slight breeze. Beaches have been clear and the water is clean, turquoise and warming up each day.  I've noticed the signs have been relocated on Paws Beach  narrowing the width of the beach.  I hope this is not permanent.  It may have had to do with the water contamination for two weeks last month on Venice Beach.  Tourists were relocated to Sharkeys and  Caspersen to swim.

April 8 - 10, Shark Tooth Festival , Airport Festival Grounds, Fri. 4-9 p.m., Sat. 10 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sun. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m..  Featuring arts and crafts, fossil vendors, children's games, live entertainment  and delicious food.  Also 10 k run Saturday  at 7:30 a.m.

April 14th, 5:30 - 8 p.m.,   Thursday Stroll downtown Venice Main Street.  Shops will stay open till 8:00 p.m.

April 16th  Suncoast BBQ Bash, Airport Festival Grounds, www.suncoastbbqbash.com

April 24th, 9 to 11:00 a.m.,   Eggstravagenza - Easter Egg Hunt, Centennial Park .  The hunt is on for children in the downtown park area. 

April 29 @8:00 p.m. and April 30th at 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Venice Symphony Spring Pops Concert at the Church of the Nazarene
